HISTORY OF COLLECTIVE IMPACT BLACK HILLS
In the summer of 2015 an initiative that was sought to address a number of issues in Rapid City and ultimately improve the city's quality of life, was created and known as Rapid City Collective Impact (RCCI). The following year, dozens of community members became involved in different aspects of RCCI, offering their own insights on topics ranging from affordable housing and behavioral health, to race relations and workforce development. The initiative has evolved in a variety of ways since then - to the point that it no longer exists in its initial form. Rather than one over-sized collective impact initiative trying to take on several important topics, several issue-centric initiatives have come into existence that take on specific areas of focus. As a result, we created a shared PLATFORM that would showcase the collaborations and collective impact efforts happening around our region for the betterment of West River communities, now known as Collective Impact Black Hills.
